Hi, I am Lucas
I am a project manager, a parent, and an expat based in Zurich, Switzerland.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Switzerland wasn’t in the long-range plan. As with many expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were intense — unfamiliar systems, routines, and expectations. Everyday tasks seemed more tangled than they ought to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of learning on the fly. But over time, routines settled in. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt stable.
Why I Built Clear Petal Lane
Most online guidance was either corporate relocation advice or superficial tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical advice grounded in real life in Switzerland.
